Micro-Enterprise

We began a small interest-free loan/grant program in January 2015, lending capital for people to establish small businesses or to meet pressing needs.  With reasonable guidelines for terms, repayment, etc, mamas, dads, and jajas are now able to feed their families, pay school fees, and otherwise care for their families, and the difference it has made in their lives has sometimes been dramatic!

Total loans/grants since inception:  156
Total amount loaned in 2015:  Approximately  $5,100
Total amount given as grants in 2015:  Approximately  $485
Average size of loan: Approximately  $50
Average size of grant:  Approximately  $20

“If there is a poor man with you, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from your poor brother; but you shall freely open your hand to him, and shall generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.”

–  Deuteronomy 15:7-8.
